Welcome Goats
Please help us welcome Cookie Doe and her nephew, Chewy (Chewbacca) to the farm.
We purchased these 2 Nigerian Dwarfs from friends and fellow 4-H members. Cookie Doe is expecting kids this May and we couldn't be more excited!
The kids joined the Dairy Goat group with 4-H and have been learning everything they possibly can about the goats. We chose Nigerians for many of their wonderful qualities. They are gentle and trainable, their small size makes them easier to handle as well. Another positive aspect that we liked was the fat content in their milk is higher than a full size larger goat. The average butterfat is 6.5% and can go up to 10% or even higher. The higher fat content in the milk is excellent for cheese, soap, and cream (more specifically: ice cream)
