Bunnies

A healthy litter of bunnies were born in the early morning of November 26th, 2017.  They will be weaned from their mom in about 8 weeks.  Check back often to watch them grow.

A rabbits gestation period is typically 31 days.  By day 28 you need to put a nesting box in the cage for the doe to get ready.  On day 28 we put the box in and mama bunny got very busy building her nest.  Alexis had friends over and they were really wanting the babies to arrive that night.  I told them it was unlikely because it was a little early but still possible.  I heard so much noise coming from the cage that night and when we checked in the morning there was movement under the nest of fur.  Quite a fun surprise!  Next time, I will put the box in sooner so Sandals has plenty of time to prepare.
